Maysen St Germain is a photographer and designer working out of Northern Rhode Island; with familiarity and place both playing a massive role in their work.

Their work is about mindfulness and observation, and about the ephemerality of the human experience. Inspired by everything, they aspire to capture the world without bias.

Driven by an innate need to photograph, a need that borderlines obsession, they photograph to capture the beauty in the mundane. Perhaps this is an answer to living in the same town for nearly their entire life, needing to find beauty in the things they have seen thousands of times. The work is about capturing a moment, but that moment doesn’t need to be something extraordinary to be worth capturing and showcasing.

Their work combines architectural, documentary, street, and fine art photography. Inspired by a wide variety of mediums such as painting, sculpture, and films - as well artists such as Edward Hopper, Stephen Shore, Terrence Malick, Gregory Crewdson and Mark Power.
